2024-2025 Environmental Justice

CBI Teen Travel: Environmental Justice

Each year, our Education Team is ecstatic to offer learning trips for each grade level of our High School program. Trips are a unique experience for teens to engage with their Jewish identity outside of Religious School and synagogue- they will also change year to year so that teens have the opportunity to travel without repeating their past experiences. We find that teens come away from these trips bonded closer to their classmates and passionate to learn about how they can make change.

Teens are not required to enroll in Religious School in order to attend a teen trip - it is encouraged, but not required. There will be pre-teaching classes that will take place in the lead up to a trip's departure. More information about these classes will be sent after registration is confirmed.

If you have any questions about this type of programming and what to expect, please reach out to our Education Coordinator.

8th/9th Grade Trip:  Environmental Justice (San Francisco, CA)
Date: February 14-16, 2025

This year, CBI has partnered with Tzedek America for a unique Tu B’shvat weekend in San Francisco, CA. Teens will attend shabbat services with Wilderness Torah, learn about sustainable living with Urban Adamah, and explore the beautiful coast of Northern California.

CBI Teen Travel and Finances

All students registering for a CBI Trip are responsible to pay a deposit of $200.00 to reserve their space. The remaining balance for a CBI Trip must be completed 1 month prior to departure. Our staff will reach out with reminders about balances as trips draw closer.

Families are able to set up monthly payment plans or pay in full through their credit cards on file with CBI. You may also opt to set these payments up in conjunction with your Religious School tuition. When checking payment boxes, please continue your enrollment form- we will reach out to you with your final amount due.

CBI Trip Scholarships

The cost of our trips covers travel, most meals, activities, and accommodations throughout the trip. We are able to keep costs low and offer scholarships thanks to the generous support of The Roscoe and Debra Nelson Youth Fund.

Cost should not prohibit any student from experiencing a Jewish Education with CBI. We are happy to offer scholarships in the same way we offer scholarships for other Jewish learning programming. Please let our team know if you are interested in receiving scholarship for any CBI Trip. We will only charge the $200 deposit at this time and our Education Coordinator, will reach out to you.

Registration for any CBI Trip will be completed when we receive your $200 deposit and a payment arrangement is made with CBI's office. Please review and select your preferred payment option below.
